The war in Ukraine is causing an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
This page is a portal to fund raising for the Lions Clubs in the EU and Ukraine, through the Brisbane Lions, to assist them as they help the Ukrainians.
Lions Clubs provide vital assistance where it is needed. The Brisbane California Lions Club launched this fundraising appeal to support the refugee efforts related to the current conflict in Ukraine.
August 1st Update:
This latest round of funds raised, totaling $8,422.57, are being used to supply food to the people of Ukraine. These funds will provide 10 weeks of meals/groceries to all those seeking service.
July 1st Update:
This latest round of funds raised are being donated to the Kiev Lions Club in Ukraine. They are using these funds to buy food, clothes, medical equipment, and supplies.
March 1st Update:
All funds raised will be donated directly to our fellow Lions in Poland, who have provided us the follow message on their frontline efforts:
Thousands of people are on the border with Poland. Doors to Poland are opened. Polish people have their hearts opened and offer refugees food, clothing, medicine, and accommodations. Some people continue to move to the West - to other countries. Some of them want to stay in Poland (before the war, there were over 1 million Ukrainians living and working in Poland).
At the moment Polish Lions are providing basic products for border crossings with Ukraine (part of this will be financed by an emergency grant from LCIF [Lions Clubs International Foundation]). We are also preparing transports of food and medicine directly to Ukraine, [while] we still can get them through the border – according to the Ukrainian diaspores this is most important now. We welcome refugees in our homes, we look after groups of women and children.
There are already over 300,000 refugees in Poland.
Lions stand for peace and understanding, and we unite through kindness to serve those in need. Your donation will help ensure Lions are there to help refugees and displaced persons find the safety and security they desperately need.
